For the final blog in our Hotspot on Machines series, we have left the most glamorous, the most stylish and the most desirable until last; the Sanremo Roma.
The Roma is undoubtedly the Grandfather of the Sanremo family. Available in two and three group head size, the Roma is the Ferrari of the range. It has temperature control technology, enabling each group head to serve espresso at different temperatures, which helps reduce your energy consumption.
The first UKBC Workshop to be held outside of London took place at the Casa Espresso showroom in Shipley, West Yorkshire yesterday. Casa Espresso is a leading supplier of San Remo espresso machines for the North of England, making them the perfect host for the Workshop event.
The Workshop consisted of three main parts – a practical session on the official UKBC kit (a San Remo Verona and the Mahlkonig K30 grinders, kindly leant to us by Mahlkonig UK), a Q & A session with a certified UKBC Judge, plus an opportunity for the Baristas to chat with other competitors and share ideas.
In attendance were four experienced competitors (including several finalists) and four UKBC newcomers. The varying levels of experience produced a great learning environment, with all baristas benefiting from the day.
Further to the popularity of our fully booked UK Barista Championship workshop held on 31st January, we are pleased to announce we will be holding a Barista Information Day on Friday, 10th February from 10am – 1pm.
In preparation for this year’s upcoming UK Barista Championships, we would like to invite all potential entrants to our Barista Workshop, to be held on Tuesday, 31st January from 10am – 4pm.
Hosted by Casa Espresso, suppliers of San Remo commercial espresso machines and speciality coffee, the Workshop will feature a Question and Answer session with a UK Barista Championship 2012-13 Sensory Judge, as well as valuable practice with previous competitors.
